Dr Lucy Rigden

NOT CURRENTLY TAKING NEW PATIENTS

After completing my medical studies at UWA, my initial hospital years were spent working at Fremantle Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital, and Hollywood Private. My General Practice training was predominantly rural and spent in the wheat belt towns of Beverly and Moora, giving me an insight into rural practice and the joys and challenges of living outside of the big smoke. Following this time I returned to Perth and have spent over a decade working in Bayswater.

I regard myself as a well rounded Family Doctor and my training has encompassed all areas of care. To keep up to date I enjoy attending educational events, I examine other doctors sitting their specialist GP fellowship exams, and until 2017 was a regular Clinical Lecturer at UWA.

My Diploma of Child Health and Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health reflect my special interest in paediatrics and sexual and reproductive health. My practice also encompasses mental health and management of chronic disease. I am happy to provide complete skin checks and surgical excisions, and also have an interest in cosmetic medicine.

As a mum of two children I know how important a great relationship with your GP can be, and over the years I have shared the ups and downs of family life with many of my patients – this long term commitment is the backbone of what it means to provide quality General Practice and is what brings me joy when I come to work!

When not working I love to run, travel, read, and spend time with my family and friends.
