Dr Jane Gibson
After completing my medical degree at the University of Western Australia, my initial hospital time included a range of clinical experiences at both Fremantle Hospital and Princess Margaret Hospital, leading to the development of a broad range of clinical skills.
Acquiring my General Practice Fellowship involved time spent rurally in Derby, along with various clinics across Perth. I have a passion for all aspects of General Practice and enjoy the opportunity to develop long-term clinical relationships with patients and their families.
I have developed special interests in paediatrics, women’s health and sexual health. To further my skills in these areas, I have completed a Diploma of Child Health, a Vocational Diploma in Women’s Health and a Certificate in Sexual Health. I am skilled in inserting both Mirena and Implanon contraceptive devices.
Beyond family medicine I have also gained considerable clinical experience in Occupational Health (pre-employment medicals and managing work place injuries), Skin checks and Travel medicine. Having also travelled extensively, this is an area of medicine I really enjoy. I am competent in performing skin checks and removing skin lesions
Outside of general practice, I am busy! I have three small children and I can be found chasing them around at the beach, parks, local community events and their various after school activities. I love playing tennis, swimming and pilates, and look forward to many a social occasion with my family and friends.
