Dr Amy Shannon

Originally from Yorkshire, I graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2007. I worked in the NHS there for couple of years before emigrating to Perth.

I spent a few years in various specialties in Perth hospitals including SCGH, Fremantle Hospital and the Children’s Hospital. This equipped me with a broad experience before I obtained GP fellowship in 2014, training at a practice in Mandurah.

My special interests are reflected in my further training and I have completed a Vocational Graduate Diploma in Women’s Health, Diploma in Child Health and a Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health. I am experienced in Mirena and Implanon insertion. I am currently working towards a Diploma in Breastfeeding Management and the Possums Neuroprotective Developmental Care accreditation.

I am passionate about medical education and have been teaching medical students at Notre Dame University for several years.

Outside of work I enjoy family time with my husband and 2 kids. I love the beach, park run, cooking and travel.
