Children & Hydration
Children are at a greater risk of dehydration than adults.
This is because in relation to their size, children have a larger proportion of their skin available to lose sweat and be exposed to heat.
Additionally, children don’t always recognise that they’re thirsty, and if they’re not encouraged and reminded may forget to drink.

Abscesses can develop just about anywhere in the body and can be painful and usually develop when you have a bacterial infection that your immune system tries to contain.
In the process of fighting the infection, pus (a liquid or semi-liquid mixture of bacteria and dead cells) is produced.
Often treatment is needed to heal an abscess and to stop infection spreading, so see your doctor if you think you might have an abscess.

Australia has fallen behind the rest of the developed world in trying to achieve a healthy balance between work and life outside work.
A good work-life balance means you have harmony between different aspects of your life, where benefits gained from each area can support and strengthen the others.

As we start to approach the Christmas period, GP’s on Bayview has collaborated with Share the Dignity in the bid to make life better for a woman or girl experiencing homelessness or poverty this Christmas.
As part of the organisation’s ‘#inthebag Christmas campaign, GP’s on Bayview will act as a drop-off point for donations aimed at providing women or girls with essential products at times where this may be out of reach.
So, next time you’re at your local grocery store, be sure to collect a few extra items than normal and put them inside a handbag you no longer use.
.
You can drop this into our clinic from 18 November – 2 December as your donation to Perth women in need, and celebrate this Christmas knowing you’ve given the most meaningful and appreciated gift of all.
